Experience. I’ve been writing professionally for ten years, and during that time I’ve published seven books with traditional publishers, with another under contract. I’m familiar with the messy, emotional side of the creative process (voice, character development, narrative arc, pacing, worldbuilding) as well as the requirements of the business side of publication (query letters, synopses, manuscript guidelines).
Perspective. My goal when providing feedback is not to tell you what I think you should do with your story, but to help you identify what you want to do and give you some guidance on how to get there.
