Queueing & Turnaround Times

Queueing

It’s important to me to make sure I’m giving each project my full attention, so I use a queueing system. All materials I receive are placed in a queue, and I work on projects in the order I receive them.

During our initial contact, I’ll provide an estimate as to your wait time. If you would like to move forward, I will ask you to send your materials and a signed contract. You will not be asked for payment until I begin work on your critique; please don’t sent a payment ahead of time.

I will be in touch if your wait time becomes significantly longer than the estimate, and you are always welcome to change your mind and decline a critique if the wait becomes too long. If this is the case, simply let me know and I’ll delete any materials you’ve sent from my computer.

When you are first in the queue and I’m ready to begin your critique, I’ll be in touch to request that you send your payment. I’m not able to begin work until I receive your payment, so please be prompt. If more than a week (seven days) goes by and I don’t hear from you and/or receive your payment, I’ll assume that you’ve chosen not to pursue a critique from me and I’ll move on to the next project in the queue.

Turnaround Times

Turnaround times are calculated from the date I begin work on your feedback.

• Query Critique: two weeks for the initial review; any subsequent reviews (up to two) will happen within one week of receiving the revised version(s)
• First Ten Pages Critique: three weeks
• First Three Chapters Critique: one month
• Whole Manuscript Critique: three months

All turnaround times are subject to change. I will do my best to get feedback to you as quickly as possible, but I’m a human person and things sometimes come up. I will always communicate any delays to you ASAP.

Expedited turnaround times may be available for an additional fee. Please ask if you are interested.
