What To Expect

Once you’ve decided you’d like to work with me, please fill out this Google form that tells me a little about you and your manuscript.

After I receive the form, I will be in touch within 48 business hours. If your materials are a good match for my skill set, I’ll let you know what kind of wait time you can expect. If you decide to move forward, I’ll send along a contract and instructions on how to send your materials.

• For query letters, please use one-inch margins all around, size 12 font, single-spaced. Query letters should be no more than one page; around 250 words.
• For all other materials, please format your materials to industry standard formatting: one-inch margins all around, size 12 font, double-spaced, with no extra spacing between paragraphs. All materials must be written in English.

Once I’ve received your materials and the signed contract, I’ll get you settled in the queue and give you any updates as to your estimated wait time.

When you are first in the queue and I’m ready to begin your critique, I’ll be in touch to request that you send your payment via Paypal invoice. I’m not able to begin work until I receive payment, so please be prompt.

You don’t need a Paypal account to pay your invoice. You will have the option to use a regular credit or debit card.

Payments are due in full before I begin work on your critique for all services except for a Whole Manuscript Critique.

For a Whole Manuscript Critique, half of the total will be due before I begin. The other half will be due upon completion of the critique, before I send along your feedback.

When I’m finished with your critique, I will send your feedback to you. Once you’ve confirmed that you’ve received the critique, I will delete your materials from my computer.

For Query Critiques and First Ten Pages Critiques, you will receive inline comments using Word’s Track Changes feature.

For First Three Chapters and Full Manuscript Critiques, you will receive a letter with detailed feedback on your pages along with inline comments using Word’s Track Changes feature.

If you don’t have Word, let me know what you do have and we’ll work something out.
